Hello, welcome to my talk page!

If you want to leave a message, please do it at the bottom, as a new section, for better formatting. You can do that by simply pressing the plus sign (+) or "new section" on the top of this page. And don't forget to sign your messages with four tildes, like this: ~~~~

Attention: I prefer to keep discussions unfragmented. If you leave a comment for me here, I will most likely respond to it on this same page—my talk page—as an effort to keep the entire conversation in one place. By the same token, if I leave a comment on your talk page, please respond to it there. Remember, we can use our watchlist to keep track of when responses are made. At the same time, feel free to send an alert to me on this page about a comment you have left elsewhere.

Archiving discussions on Miraheze Developers Wiki:Community portal[edit]

Hi BlackWidowMovie0,

While I appreciate you, in good-faith, wanted to archive, or close, discussions with a template on Miraheze Developers Wiki:Community portal, the reality is this not actually required. Formal closure may be used for permissions requests and should be used for formal community proposals, but most discussions can just naturally peter out. So, going forward, please avoid closing others' discussions.

Thanks,

@Dmehus:  Done Thanks! BlackWidowMovie0 (talk) 00:55, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

Modifying other user's messages on talk pages and noticeboards[edit]

Hi BlackWidowMovie0,

I see that you still not hearing the message(s) that have been expressed to you elsewhere, in your changing @MacFan4000:'s messages on talk pages and noticeboards. Please note this has been reverted.

This practice ends now. This is your only warning on this on this wiki.

Thanks,
Dmehus (talk) 01:02, 3 December 2020 (UTC)

@Dmehus: It was a modification of an archiving of a thread, on one message, which I explained in my edit summary. I closed the thread, and then you reverted it, and then MacFan4000 closed it again, so I put my signature, since I originally closed it. There was no modifying others' messages, it was an archive template. BlackWidowMovie0 (talk) 01:07, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
@BlackWidowMovie0: I'll give you that it's somewhat minor, yes, but the fact is, your close was reverted. Thus, you cannot insert your signature in place of MacFan4000's. That is the modification. I wanted to make sure that there is no grey area here with this warning, so you fully understand. Dmehus (talk) 01:12, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: So no modifying of any kind? No templates, no messages, except grammatical corrections (if I do this, it'll be in edit summary)? BlackWidowMovie0 (talk) 01:15, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
@BlackWidowMovie0: It's not that you can't contribute here, but since you don't seem to be able to use common sense, I'm going to say you should avoid modifying any messages on talk pages and noticeboards, broadly construed, including grammatical corrections, and avoid closing discussions on the same. Any content you create should be done as subpages of your own userspace, and any bureaucrat can move or history merge in your revisions when ready for mainspace. Dmehus (talk) 01:18, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: Literally every user here except me is a bureaucrat. You can see how that would be a little pressuring for the little guy. BlackWidowMovie0 (talk) 01:20, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: I literally haven't moved a page since I got the notice, nor have I edited a comment. BlackWidowMovie0 (talk) 02:21, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
@BlackWidowMovie0: While I realize that you may or may not have moved a page since receiving a warn, the reality is you created a page in mainspace when you were strongly advised to create and incubate content pages as subpages in your own userspace. As you are not an administrator, this created an unnecessary redirect, which you invariably tagged for deletion. Combined, this creates extra busy work for local administrators, all of whom have other tasks required of them. So, the proposal for a local block, which would only be for a minimum of three (3) months, is only one proposal, as an enforced break away from Miraheze Developers Wiki. No one is saying you cannot contribute constructively on other users' wikis or on your own wikis, not at all. In fact, we're encouraging it, and this is one way to help achieve that. Do let me know if that is helpful, and if that makes more sense. Dmehus (talk) 05:42, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
@Dmehus: I created it because the redlink was there, and I forgot it was mainspace. You should enable the Suppress Redirect on users, so they can not create redirects. BlackWidowMovie0 (talk) 16:20, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
