Peki şablonlar nedir?
Bir şablon, başka bir sayfaya dâhil edilmiş sayfadır. Bu durum bir metnin, birden fazla yerde kullanılması durumunda oldukça kullanışlıdır ve şablon üzerinde görülen tüm örnekler değiştirilerek defalarca kullanılabilir.
Tüm şablonlar "şablon ad alanlarında" yer alır.
Örneğin Template:Main adında bir şablon oluşturup, içine:''Bu konunun ana maddesi: [[{{{1}}}]]''. kodunu yerleştirdiğinizde, bu şablonu başka bir sayfada {{Main}} ekleyerek kullandığınızda, metnin eklediğiniz sayfada görüntülenmesini sağlayabilirsiniz.

Bu wiki'de Miraheze wikilerinde kullanılan şablonların merkezi bir ana deposunun oluşturulması amaçlanmaktadır.
Şablonları oluşturmak, çözmek, anlamak, kurmak ve sürdürmek zahmetli bir iştir. Miraheze, wiki yöneticileri için bu durumu daha kolay hale getirmek maksadıyla çalışmaktadır; böylelikle değiştirme, yükseltme, hataların ayıklanması yarışına ayak uydurmanızı ve enerjinizi başka faydalı çalışmalara aktarmanıza olanak sağlıyor.
Tam işlevsel bir MediaWiki, hazır paket şablonlar ile gelmemektedir ve bu şekilde geleceğine dair de bir planlama bulunmamaktadır. Miraheze wiki yöneticileri ya kendi şablonlarını yazarlar ya da başka bir yerden ihraç edebilirler. Wikipedia.org, bu iş birliğinin çabasının bir sonucudur.

Bunu wikimde nasıl kullanabilirim?
Using templates from this wiki won't prevent you from having unique templates on your wiki. The advantage of using templates from this wiki is that multiple people will have already put in the effort to make highly complex templates suitable for general use.
- Porting templates versus interwiki transcluding templates, most templates here are imported, currently interwiki transcluding doesn't function.
- Customising templates, tidying up imported templates.
- For editing many wiki pages consecutively use (carefully) AutoWikiBrowser (AWB) or Javascript Wiki Browser (JWB).
Icons
Miraheze wikis are Instant Commons enabled, otherwise the images for icons would have to be uploaded locally. A good source for these is Wikimedia Commons' Category:Icons by subject.
Şablon testi
For previewing a template do the following:
- Copy the templates to be tested under a common prefix. For example, you might copy
Template:FootoUser:Example/sandbox/Template:Foo. Alternatively, you might createUser:Example/sandbox/Template:Fooas a redirect toTemplate:Foo/sandbox. - Go to Special:TemplateSandbox. Fill in the page or revision to be rendered, and the prefix you chose in step 1. It is possible to specify multiple prefixes by separating them using vertical bars, e.g.
User:Example/sandbox1|User:Example/sandbox2. - Click View.
There is also a box at the bottom of the edit form which allows for previewing some other page as it would appear were the template being edited saved with the current contents of the edit form.
